P*P « Alien » / Graffiti dates from 1993. Paris, Père Lachaise neighborhood. approx. size 1.80m x 4.5m
When I was a student, I greatly admired the work of HR Giger, which I discovered after seeing Ridley Scott's film Alien. I appreciated the organic and industrial aesthetic, as well as the graphic repetition of bones and viscera.
I worked entirely by improvisation to test the graphic system and the play of light and shadow with only four cans of spray paint:
Dark Black Olive, Spanish Brown, Ivory and White to work in monochrome and give relief with shadows and highlights.
(Spray Paint from Sparvar… If you know you know).
The photo is blurry because it was taken at the end of the day with a long exposure. On film, of course!
Manual print on baryta paper.
