New research from our ‘Planet Card’ pilot shows how fruit and veg voucher schemes can do more than just tackle food poverty.
The pilot gave 120 low-income households weekly credit to spend on organic, planet-friendly fruit and veg at - helping participants increase their average intake to above five-a-day, while ALSO supporting local farmers, strengthening community connections & keeping public funding circulating in the local economy.
Our new report shares learnings from the pilot and calls for the Planet Card scheme to be extended and expanded, alongside a Welsh Organic Fruit and Veg Voucher Scheme for low-income households.
