Hi Everyone,

A few years ago I stopped doing my top ten of the year, basically because I was struggling to find 10 tracks I wanted to include. But this year saw a return to form for some artists. The way the charts are done is not really conducive to getting a lot of different artists and songs in them.

Before my top 10, I just wanted to give a shout out to Tame Impala who finally made the top 40 in the UK: not once but twice! I've loved Tame Impala ever since hearing their version of "Remember Me". Kevin, the guy behind Tame Impala, is a phenomenon who blends rock, indie, jazz, EDM, disco and soul. If you're not familiar, go check him out. Other than "Remember Me", I suggest checking out "Turn Up the Sunshine" with vocals by Diana Ross, and of course "Dracula".

So here's my top ten of 2025, with Sam Fender's heart wrenching "People Watching" taking my top spot. Sam won the Mercury Music Prize this year and deservedly so. People Watching was dedicated to his friend, Annie. The song is about his journey to and from visiting her during her end of life care. It is so beautiful and so deserving of my top track of the year.
