Primary Objective of the role of Assistant Poultry Farm Manager

The primary objective of this role is:-

Assist the Poultry Farm Manager and general farm work

Description of the role

• Assisting the Farm Manager in the running of the farm
• Along with the Farm Manager, you must ensure birds have feed and water and that the environment within which they are kept is suitable with regard to ventilation, lighting, etc.
• Along with the Farm Manager, you are required to answer any alarm calls from the unit you are responsible for and respond in a timely manner. Where this is not possible you must notify your Manager immediately
• Along with the Farm Manager, you must remove dead, sick and lame birds from the growing space daily as a minimum
• Along with the Farm Manager, you must conduct sufficient checks on the birds to meet the requirements of the Farm Manager and the relevant farm assurance schemes
• Along with the Farm Manager, maintain sufficient daily records to meet the demands of the client and the relevant farm assurance schemes
• Along with the Farm Manager, manage feed for the farms as per the Farm Managers plans, checking feed bins daily and ordering/ cancelling orders where necessary.
• Report any breakdowns or incidences to the Farm Manager immediately.
• Oversee the running of the farms to the best of your ability at all times.
• Flexibility to cover last minute breakdowns or increases in work load
• Other tasks commensurate with the role or any other relevant or delegated duties required by the Farm Manager and Area Managers
