Aleta reflected on a powerful Speak Truth session where students and teachers came together for an intergenerational conversation led by Speak Truth students.
Together, they explored grades, homework, AI, and the expectations placed on young people today. Aleta shared two meaningful takeaways: students are thinking deeply about the value and impact of grades, and teachers are listening with care, curiosity, and openness.
The joy in the room came from the active listening happening between generations. Students and educators were not just speaking—they were hearing one another. That kind of grounded, honest conversation is what helps us move toward a more thoughtful and engaging school experience.
