A huge thank you to the Department for Work and Pensions and their head office staff at Quarry House for their incredibly successful clothing drive and bake sale this month.

We’re delighted that a permanent donation station has now been installed in Quarry House, making it easy for colleagues to donate workwear to Smart Works throughout the year. So far, an incredible 326 items have already been collected, including clothing, toiletries, shoes, and handbags.

In addition, the bake sale raised a fantastic £426.

Both the donations and the funds raised will help us support women across Yorkshire to build their confidence, secure employment, and transform their lives. Having recently moved into a new, larger centre, we are now able to support more women than ever before. Contributions like these ensure that every client leaves Smart Works with exactly what they need to succeed.

Partnerships like the one we share with DWP make this work possible, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Our outreach team have been busy throughout May connecting with our referral partners and potential clients all across Yorkshire ⭐️

Last year we supported over 1000 women with our tailored coaching and dressing service, and many more through group workshops💡

68% of clients supported ahead of an interview secure employment 💼

🎉 Samantha got the job(s)! 🎉

Huge congratulations to our client Samantha, who has secured not one, but two jobs! One, a role in the NHS as a receptionist, and another an admin position.

We met Samantha after she was made redundant, when she joined a training course and one of our trusted partners referred her to us.

We helped Samantha ahead of her job interviews by providing interview clothing and coaching tailored to the jobs she was going for.

She said ‘the interview prep and clothes really lifted my spirits. I tried on things that I felt amazing and comfortable in. I cannot stop telling people about the amazing company for empowering me when I needed it. Smart Works is inspirational!’

Samantha told us that getting a job for her means ‘security and independence for myself and my son.’
