The Light Room
A calm, light-filled space in Linlithgow for gatherings, creativity and focused work. Events • Coworking • Studio hire
Gather • Create • Connect
Tonight we’re hosting the Linlithgow Flyers Netball Club for their awards night, and The Light Room is looking rather lovely.
For this celebration, the space has been transformed with flowers grown in our garden, candlelight, twinkling fairy lights, and a beautiful balloon arch brought along by the club. With seating for 30 guests, it’s a perfect example of how the studio can be adapted for intimate celebrations, team events, workshops, awards evenings, and special gatherings.
We love seeing people make the space their own, and we can’t wait to welcome the Flyers for a night of celebrating!
If you’re looking for a warm, flexible venue for your next event, we’d love to hear from you.

“Very great change starts from very small conversations, held among people who care.”
That feels like a good way to describe Connect. A room full of local business owners. A cup of coffee. Time to talk properly, share ideas and get to know the people building businesses nearby.
Join us for Connect at The Light Room this Thursday at 10 am.
Book your place through the website. You’re very welcome here.

Running a business can feel quite solitary, particularly when you work from home or spend most of your week focused on clients.
Connect is a chance to step away from your desk for a morning and spend time with other local business owners. No formal pitches. No pressure to work the room. Just a welcoming space, a cup of coffee, delicious pastries and time for conversations that may lead to new ideas, useful support or simply a familiar face the next time you come along.
Connect takes place at The Light Room this Thursday, 18 June, at 10 am.

I’ve been to a lot of networking over the years. I’ve also run networking groups before, as part of the EH49 HUB project pre-Covid. So when I started Connect at The Light Room, I knew what “worked” - but I also knew I wanted to create something different.
For years, I’ve had conversations with local business owners who wanted somewhere to talk properly. Somewhere to share ideas, ask honest questions, and be around other people who understand what it’s like being a business owner. Not salesy early morning meetings. Not being forced to refer people you’ve only just met. Something calm.
And I knew there were plenty of formats I could have followed. But I knew The Light Room needed to bring something different. Not louder or more polished. Something quieter, and useful.
So we had our first session last month, and as I guided the conversation, I watched what happened. It turned into a well-held, supportive conversation between business owners. When I asked the group what they’d like, they all said, “more of this please!”
A space to talk about what’s working, what feels hard, and, if you wanted to, ask for help thinking a problem through.
The Light Room itself has some sort of lovely, gentle magic that helps people relax. Add in simple things - good coffee, pastries, comfy chairs, time to settle in, someone steering the conversation so everyone gets to contribute, and being able to take your shoes off and curl up on the couch if you wish - and it becomes something different without needing to force it.
Everyone has time to speak. Everyone has time to listen. And the conversation is gently managed so no one has to fight to be heard. It feels less like traditional networking, and more like a small mastermind around the table.
The next Connect session is next Thursday at The Light Room in Linlithgow, and I’d really love to see a few more people there.
If you’ve been looking for a business space that feels thoughtful, honest and genuinely supportive, you’re very welcome to join us.

"I attended a networking event at The Light Room, Linlithgow, which was fabulous!
As an inexperienced ‘networker’, the session was set up in such a way that it felt very relaxed and natural.
All participants were given the opportunity to share their thoughts, challenges and points of view which I found extremely beneficial.
I already have the next scheduled networking event in my diary!"
‘Connect’ our first networking event is on Wednesday. Here’s a bit about why it’s so important to us, and how it’ll work. Hope to see you there!
