This morning was the first of six employability workshops supporting Bexley parents who are looking for work. It was great fun helping Bianca facilitate story-based discussions exploring the participants’ journeys, sharing challenges, thinking about solutions and identifying skills and strengths. Looking forward to workshops 5&6 where I will be coaching parents on wellbeing, confidence and designing the life they want.

International Women’s Day Part 1: combing coaching, ESOL and creative methods to deliver a workshop on women and leadership. We explored different meanings of leadership, identified different leadership qualities and skills, and celebrated all the ways that we are leaders in our own lives ❤️

Yesterday, I ran a session for for exploring what is . Community is at the heart of what I do, so it was a real pleasure to dig deeper into this theme with the group. We looked at different meanings of the word ‘community’, how it can be a source of support, belonging and confidence, but also a means of singling out, othering or excluding. We looked at the difference between self-identifying communities, and ascribed communities. We reflected on all the different communities we feel a sense of belonging with. And we celebrated our English Club community, where there is a lot of difference, but also a shared goal to make friends and help each other learn English.
