Single #2 They Listen.

This track grew from my sense of our relationship with the natural world, the layers of history and presence that surround us. I was thinking about the centuries passed, the footsteps that touched the same ground as ours, and the trees that have watched it all unfold. It’s also a reflection on how we live with technology while trying to stay connected to the earth.

I was especially inspired by mycelium networks beneath the ground, talked about in the book The Mother Tree, unseen from the surface yet forming an essential web of communication and support.

That invisible network became a metaphor for memory, ancestry and the traces people leave behind. Even when they are gone, something of them remains, carried through feeling, place and sound.
