Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced a “new simpler easier system” for travel abroad for double vaccinated people which should come into effect from 4th October and last until at least the New Year when it will be reviewed.
The green and amber lists will be scrapped and there will just be one red list. For people who are fully vaccinated and travelling from a country not on the red list, pre-departure tests will be scrapped and PCR tests on return will be replaced by lateral flow tests. -19
