Having good tests in place is more than just a process of checking functionality that is required. ⠀

Tests can also act as a form of documentation for fellow developers. ✅⠀
⠀
They show how to use code, and how it can behave under specific conditions. ⠀
⠀
Simplicity is key. You don’t want to get lost in your own code. If you can’t follow it easily how do you expect someone else too.⠀
⠀
You can help code substantially by creating simple tests that follow good design patterns. 👨‍💻⠀
⠀
Dont be scared to show someone else your code. Peer code reviews will help eliminate possible bugs in your code and tests that you might have not picked up but someone else could. ⠀

DREAM BIG 💪⠀

Denzel Washington once said “Dreams without goals, are just dreams and they ultimately fuel disappointment.”⠀

I spent some time last week thinking about what I want to do with my future. Where I wanted to be as a developer. ⠀
⠀
I realised that I’m not exactly where I want to be. ⠀
⠀
I’m taking the easy road. Making excuses for why I didn’t do specific tasks on my list. Just cruising by. ⠀
⠀
I came to realise its because I wasn’t pushing myself enough. I didn’t have a big enough goal that would mean I would push myself so much harder to get any where near close enough to it. ⠀
⠀
✅ My goal now is to become the best c # developer in the company I work at and then become go to person online for c # tips and tricks. ⠀
⠀
This is my accountability post. I’m hoping that by posting this I can keep myself on target and push myself to really become a better software developer. ⠀
