Father’s Day 👨👴

Father’s Day looks a bit different in our house!

My husband and I celebrated on Saturday without the little one — we had breakfast (can you tell the theme), went to a nice cafe, and went on a bit of a walk.

Then we banked it! “What is this?” I hear you say.

Well, we’ve had some difficult days in our house, especially on special days like birthdays and Mother’s Day. Our little one can’t quite cope with someone else being the centre of attention — and why would they, when they struggle with empathy or struggle to put others first?

We’ve had days where we’ve had nice moments, but then something happens and it distorts your view of the whole day.

So we’ve taken to banking moments. When we’ve had a good time, we bank it, and nothing can take away from that banked memory.

We’re so glad we did, as Sunday morning didn’t go so well and my husband got hit in the head with a phone. But we still have our banked moment to look back on. How do you celebrate?
