- Terrible scenes of devastation in areas of the Eastern Caribbean, with reports of fatalities in & & the Grenadines, 20 years after Hurricane Ivan wreaked havoc & destruction. Then, we rebuilt. We'll do so again. Thinking of everyone in this beautiful part of the world which will continue to suffer the effects of climate crisis, poor planning & regulations, underdevelopment, indebtedness & globalisation. Time to step up the debate on . There's a direct correlation.

In the meantime, whilst the clearing up begins, be careful of the fundraising initiatives. I'm seeing these springing up everywhere in the UK from people I've never heard of. Of course I don't know everyone in the UK Grenada community, but I have a sense of who's who.
You're probably OK giving goods and provisions to those collecting, but for monetary donations, give these to registered charities, organisations and personnel with a track record of community work in or for Grenada, or to official government disaster relief channels.
