There are a variety of skills needed to become a good Project Manager, here are a few points we feel are most important for the role đŸ‘‡
1) Financial management - projects in the construction industry frequently cost more than expected. It is your responsibility as a project manager to request additional funds to keep the project moving forward, which requires you to explain where the money has gone and why more is needed.
2) Time management - this is related to money, as an overrun project will inevitably cost more. This skill demonstrates confidence and ensures that your on-site team is working as effectively and efficiently for the client as possible. Leadership abilities are required to manage and organise the workforce, as well as to foster a collaborative environment in which relationships with suppliers and clients can be easily managed.
3) Communication - you'll be interacting with construction workers, architects, stakeholders, council planners, architects, and engineers. That's a lot of people who need to be kept up to date on what's going on.

There are so many myths about recruitment, here are some points that we thought would be the most useful to learn from!
Myth 1: Small recruitment agencies shouldn't be trusted
Most of the big recruitment agencies out there are big for a reason. Some of the best recruitment agencies are quite niche in their operations. Smaller agencies don't need a lot of staff to provide their clients with an amazing level of service. Instead, decades of industry-specialist experience and networking do it for them.
Myth 2: Experience is a good way to measure a candidate's competence
Just because someone is older does not mean they are any wiser. Having experience is not the best way to measure someone's worth. Looking at the candidate’s skillset and personality traits is the best technique for hiring a valuable team member.
Myth 3: AI will soon replace recruiters
There has been a lot of talk of jobs disappearing thanks to automation recently in the news. Recruitment is all about connecting people and personalities, computers are not going to generate the same communication and emotions we have for others.
Myth 4: Recruiters only care about money
Most recruiters spend years learning their craft. They may even have had a career in their specialist area before switching to recruitment. This type of recruiter will be an asset to you and will bend over backwards to help you out.
