An Ode To Jack - a tribute to the late, great

Back in 2015 I watched the J.E.S.U.S Ibiza boiler room set and was in awe of Jack’s track selection and fluidity mixing.

He made the oldest tunes feel like the freshest, with style and sincere earnest; something that I instantly admired, and still do to this day.

This track is partially comprised of a selection of samples and parts (some more subtle than others) from tracks that impacted me from following his career and music.

I had the honour to meet Jack briefly a couple of times. On the most recent occasion, he came on a date in Firehouse whilst I was playing with a close mutual friend

Midway through his date he was stood on a booth properly having it to Camisra - Let Me Show You Tall Paul Remix. Apologies to the lass he was with for really egging him on.

Following his untimely death I felt compelled to sit down and write this tune. I hope I’ve done his legacy justice and that his counterparts, family and friends may enjoy this track as a small piece of keeping his name and music alive.

Over the last 18 months (maybe more) I’ve been reworking it, multiple mix downs and trial runs in venues. I’d like to say a huge thanks and for their mastery in making it sonically the best it can be.

I’d like to thank my close friends, especially who were genuinely close to Jack, for seeing this project as honestly as it is and helping out with outreach, encouragement and bringing it to life.
