Driverless taxis are due to hit London’s streets this summer as Uber prepares to launch the technology in the UK for the first time.

Developed with British tech firm Wayve, the self-driving vehicles will initially operate with a human driver behind the wheel. Using six cameras, a radar and an AI-powered computer in the boot, the taxis can navigate and respond to traffic conditions on their own.

The rollout is set to expand to more than 10 cities worldwide, including Tokyo, later this year, according to BBC NEWS.
