Pool Arts is a small organisation set up by artists in the Manchester area to provide a network of support, mentoring and opportunities to develop, show and promote their artworks. Joining Pool Arts means access to peer support and mentoring but also a commitment to helping run the organisation. Helping run the organisation means real input through attending meetings and taking on responsibilities: for example becoming part of a management committee, helping raise funding, keeping accounts, curating exhibitions or simply making the studio run smoothly.Through these activities, as well as developing as an artist, members gain more confidence and rediscover other skills which could be part of a process of recovery. Pool Arts educates the public about the benefits of supporting artistic practice by holding exhibitions of work by members and guest artists, workshops, talks and events. We welcome donations to be able to continue this important work - just use the donation button at the top of page. Every penny goes to sustain the work of Pool Arts, providing an accessible work space and mentor support to our members.
