Nearly one year on.
Sunken patio water garden in Maidenhead.

Making use of lock down 6 days tidying and dividing my water plants. Hard work but very rewarding.
I grow my plants 100% eco friendly.
No chemicals, I leave the ponds to do their thing.
Full of wildlife. It amazes me the bii diversity that is to be found in a healthy body of water.
I rely solely on rainfall to keep the ponds topped up, this seems to benefit the inhabitants.
The plants are left from year to year unchecked. This forces the plants to reach out from their containers, putting on vast amounts of fibrous root growth in their need for nutrients. This then becomes effectively a Reed bed. The new root system having to get its nutrition from sieving it from the water. This in turn keeps the pond water very healthy. The water even though there is no movement or oxygenation is crystal clear.
I do not remove the leaf debris often as this decomposes it also becomes the food source for the plants.
All very simple really.
