Tonight marks the end of the 2022 season for the GPVWC sim-racing league. I’m involved with numerous teams in the league, but one team in particular holds great significance to me and tonight marks the end of a truly prestigious era.
Simracing by VBM was founded by my friend Mike Pitman well over 15 years ago and has been a constant presence in GPVWC since 2013. Since then, it has claimed 3 drivers and 2 teams Superleague championships, over 30 wins and poles and over a hundred podium finishes. It has allowed dozens of drivers the opportunity to show their talents, including Rudy van Buren, who would go on to be the original World’s Fastest Gamer.
Moreover, VBM was my introduction to sim-racing which has had a tremendous impact on my life, both personal and professional. It was Mike Pitman who originally invited me into the community (twice, either side of university) and whose ambitious vision for VBM’s growth allowed me to develop my talents for brand design and all manner of liveries and helmet designs.
On a more personal note, within GPVWC’s Superleague, VBM setup an in-game engine manufacturer. Mike indulged my views on the engine’s name. We named it Valiant, a stirring and fitting use of alliteration on one hand, and a heartfelt tribute to my Granddad on the other. Valiant engines have been immensely successful and, as their time also ends, I’m forever grateful to Mike for allowing me to be a part of its creation as well as the whole team as a whole.
Race well, chaps! This may be the end of a great chapter, but the story will most surely continue!
Road-trip time!
There was one more reward for coming second in Team RaceArt's livery design competition; I've been given tickets to attend this weekend's Racing Festival at the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium! Great to go back to Spa again! I can't wait to see the cars in action!
Thanks once again to Team RaceArt for the prize.

I don't just do liveries! Here is a small selection of other designs, posters and illustrations I've done. Some are a few years old, mind...

My livery for the Red Arrow Racing team I did for David Fidock. I also reworked the logo for him.
Red Arrow are pleased to finally show off our new car for the 2017 season.
The RA-001
Special thanks goes to Douglas Hilliard at zedderick designs for taking his time to design our beast.
The RA-001 complete with sponsors from simnews.tv and downforce radio is now all set to hit the track.
Both Nicholas Demetris (65) and Bartomeu Cabrer Vidal (93) are already looking forward to pre season and can't wait to get in full swing of things when the season gets underway in Australia.
