Well you wouldn't put this in bathroom used by your children!

This sweet young woman graces the bottom of a linen towel. Items like this were purchased and were meant to grace the bathroom that guests would have used while visiting someone's home. The towel dates to ca.1910.

The whitework technique is known as Appenzell and it originated in Appenzell, Switzerland. Appenzell whitework is known for outlines of figures with a backdrop of drawnwork surrounded by an elaborate border and swag.

Check the Comments section to see the full towel and its mate.
