Dear Friends,

I am Shermela J. Williams and I seek to be your next Fulton County Superior Court Judge! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my candidacy. As a seasoned trial lawyer with over 15 years of hands-on experience and a dedicated servant in this community; I am uniquely qualified to serve you on the bench. I was born and raised in Fulton County. I live, work, worship, and serve in Fulton County. I am committed to Fulton, its citizens and their overall well-being. I have served in this community since I was a child through Girl Scouts, my church, my sorority, my work, and a host of other volunteer opportunities. I am acutely aware of the strengths of this County, its needs, and the issues that its citizens face day in and day out. I have a demonstrated record of service and legal expertise both in and out of the courtroom. Thus, I humbly seek your support and your vote!

Judges have a huge impact on our individual lives and the community. Competent and qualified judges are essential to the integrity of our justice system. The Fulton County Superior Court handles criminal, civil, and family law cases. I am passionate about ensuring justice for all and transparency in the courtroom. I will listen to and treat everyone who comes into my courtroom with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. I will work tirelessly to protect and safeguard every citizen’s rights, no matter their status or position in life. I will ensure that cases are handled efficiently, fairly, and competently.

I am experienced in all the areas of law that I would handle as a judge. I have been a prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer. As a civil lawyer, I currently represent both plaintiffs and defendants in lawsuits. My experience to date will enable me to make a seamless transition to the bench and add a diverse perspective.
