Guernsey Police and the GBTEA are aware of men on-island offering to do work on people's houses for cash.

It is suspected that these tradesmen hawkers who claim to work for local company's are not licensed, insured, or allowed to work in the Bailiwick.

Scammers of this nature generally target the older generations, take money in advance for work, and then do a very small amount to a poor standard before leaving.
They travel house to house and try to pressure people into paying them. Do not engage with them.

We urge the community to be very cautious of any cold callers of this nature, and to make any vulnerable family members aware.
