STORY OF THE DAY

A man used to give a beggar woman $1,000 a month.
He continued like this for a while.
One day, he gave her only $750.
The beggar woman was surprised, but figured $750 was better than nothing. He left.
A month later, he gave her only $500.
The beggar woman was astonished! She said to him, "You gave me $1,000, then it went down to $750.
Now it's $500, why? May I know why?"
The man replied, "First, all my children were young and I was rich, so I gave you $1,000.
Then, my daughter grew up and went to college, and the tuition was high, so I started giving you $750."
Now, my second child is in college, and the tuition fees have gone up, so I'm giving you $500."
The beggar asked him, "How many children do you have?"
The man replied, "Four."
The beggar asked, "And you're going to educate them all at my expense?!"
