FIFA has officially banned vuvuzelas, air horns, whistles, and other excessively loud noise-making devices from all 2026 World Cup stadia in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

The initiative comes as FIFA moves to protect match quality and broadcast standards. The governing body says vuvuzelas create a constant “monotonous droning sound, often likened to a swarm of bees” that makes on-field communication difficult for players and disrupts TV commentary.

Under the new rules, FIFA’s stadium code of conduct prohibits vuvuzelas, whistles, air horns, and other excessively loud noise-making devices, as well as laser beams and laser pointers. The code also states that body paint and body tattoos do not count as clothing, reusable water bottles are not allowed for safety reasons, and any spectator who violates these regulations can be refused entry or removed from the stadium.

The expanded 48-team tournament will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with Mexico set to face South Africa in the opening match.

Joana Quaye, ex-wife of Ghanaian millionaire Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has told a divorce court she does not want her children in the custody of Mona “Hajia4Reall” Montrage. In court yesterday, Joana argued that Hajia4Reall would be a bad influence on the children, stating past social media livestreams and videos where the kids appeared with her. The custody matter remains before the court as both parties continue divorce proceedings.

Joana’s motion comes as the US Department of Homeland Security listed Hajia4Reall and 31 other Ghanaians under “Arrested for Worst of Worst” offences. According to US authorities, those named are linked to serious crimes including fra*d, hom*cide, s*xual assault and human trafficking.

ICE stated that individuals listed will face deportation proceedings, while anyone already deported cannot re-enter the US.

Legal experts note the development may be cited in Joana’s custody case as she argues the children’s welfare should take priority.
