“A Warrant Officer Class II of the Ghana Armed Forces has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sell fi****ms to a civilian in the Ashanti Region. The suspect, identified as W.O. II David Kofi Brew of the 4th Battalion in Kumasi, was arrested on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, during an undercover police operation at the Bekwai Shell Filling Station.

The operation, led by the Ashanti South Police Intelligence Directorate, was part of efforts to dismantle illegal weapon supply networks around Obuasi. Investigations revealed the suspect allegedly offered to sell various weapons, including M16 rifles and pistols, quoting GHC80,000 for an M16.

At the time of arrest, police retrieved an assault rifle, a pistol, large quantities of ammunition, and magazines. The suspect reportedly admitted to selling weapons in and around Obuasi. He is currently in custody as investigations continue, with efforts underway to arrest accomplices and officially notify his military superiors”
