From the Iran International ايران اينترنشنال foreign ministry to Donald J. Trump

China has formally declared that it will expand its support for Iran as U.S.-led coalition airstrikes appear increasingly imminent across the region. The move marks a significant geopolitical development, accompanied by a pointed warning from Beijing to America’s Arab allies, urging them to reconsider deeper involvement in the widening conflict.
The statement comes after dramatic escalations that have reportedly dismantled key elements of Iran’s leadership structure and disrupted major global energy corridors. Iranian state television has announced the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, while China and Russia are positioning themselves as diplomatic and strategic counterbalances to the U.S.-Israeli military campaign dubbed “Operation Epic Fury.”
Beijing’s caution to Arab states coincides with declarations from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates affirming full military alignment with Washington. Meanwhile, more than 40 U.S. Air Force aircraft are deploying to the region to secure air dominance, as Iran maintains its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz—effectively interrupting roughly 20% of the world’s daily oil shipments.
Tensions remain high on the global stage. The United Nations Secretary-General has condemned the strikes, and Vice President Kamala Harris has warned that President Trump risks drawing the United States into an unwanted war. In light of the escalating threat landscape, the Secret Service has heightened protective measures for the President following retaliatory attacks on prominent landmarks, including the Burj Al-Arab hotel and Dubai International Airport.
China’s expanded backing of Tehran suggests the confrontation may be evolving beyond a regional crisis into a broader great-power standoff. As the UN Security Council convenes for an emergency session, the international community is closely watching whether Beijing’s involvement will open a path toward diplomacy—or intensify the coalition’s campaign even further.
