The VM2 feels like the true successor to the original VMU, exactly how SEGA would have designed it today.
Beyond its backlit screen, it automatically stores separate virtual VMUs for each game on SD cards up to 32GB. It works seamlessly with original GD-ROM games, as well as ISOs via MODE and GDEMU using OpenMenu.
The VM2 features a built-in lithium battery, rechargeable either via USB-C or directly from the Dreamcast controller.

Sega Digitizer system III. Games made by pixels, NOT by scanlines.
Retro video game graphics are defined as discrete digital raster data composed of pixels.
All graphical assets are stored in memory as pixel-addressable data structures with fixed spatial resolution and color information.
CRT scanlines are not encoded in the image data. They arise solely from the analog raster-scan display mechanism of cathode-ray tube monitors, resulting from sequential electron beam scanning and phosphor response characteristics.
Consequently, scanlines are a display-dependent artifact, whereas pixels are the fundamental and display-agnostic representation of video game imagery.

Believe it or not, I was just a lucky 43-old stubborn... anger and frustration at highest possible level 😡😅
This game destroyed me as a kid. Years later… revenge. (with manual transmission) :P
