We struggle with inadequacy, inferiority and insecurity daily. They fill our thoughts (mental), govern how we feel (emotional) and influence how we act (physical).

One way I am learning to combat this, is to fill my mind with affirmations of the presence, power and help of God. This is transforming my insecurity to security.

In his book, The Power of Positive Thinking, Norman Vincent Peale writes, ‘ten times each day practice the following affirmation, repeating it out loud if possible, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). Repeat those words NOW. That magic statement is the most powerful antidote on earth to inferiority thoughts.’

For me, I say it isn’t quite magical. It is the living, activated powerful word of God on display.

Think, what am I dominating my thoughts with?

Then, I’ll encourage you to practice this daily affirmation to help you also transform how you think, the way you feel and what you do.

May the truth of God’s word breathe life into you.

Prov 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and he will show you which path to take.

Sometimes what we call “high standards” was once fear. Sometimes perfection was the price we paid to belong. I didn’t learn this overnight. I learned it by slowing down. By looking honestly at my reactions. By noticing what my children were absorbing from me. Healing doesn’t shame us for what we learned to do. It gently asks us where we learned it — and whether it’s still serving us. So I’m asking you the same question I’m asking myself: What did you have to become to feel accepted? And what are you ready to lay down now?

I AM.
Exodus 3:14 - God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you' ".

Moses encountered God at the threshold of uncertainty, asking God, Why me? Who am I that I should go? What shall I tell them when they ask? Who sent me?

And God spoke.
He said: I AM.
Not, I WAS BEFORE.
Not, I WILL BE LATER.
But, I AM.

God's name was not just a name for Moses to hear. It was His state of being. His presence that always is.

Like Moses, I find myself at the rim of uncertainty. And maybe you're like me. In the midst of a transition, unsure of what lies ahead, unfinished tasks behind, questioning the call, fearing the responsibility, doubting the assignment.

Here is the invitation for us.
He is the I AM, because He is.
Presence. Permanence.
He is here present with us to lead us into everything He is calling us to.

As we ponder on this, the invitation to reflect on can be, 'Where am I being invited to move forward, trusting not in clarity, but in the presence of the I AM?'

I hope His presence is enough for you to be enough, to be.

I love the reference of salt and light.
