RALPH LEROY – THE SOUL OF HAITI IN CHOCOLATE
Paris, October 2025 — Chocolate has found its couturier. With elegance, audacity, and authenticity, Ralph Leroy, a Haitian-Montreal creator, brings Haiti to life through a gourmet and inspired work. From thread to cocoa, he traces a unique path: that of an artist transforming his roots into flavour.

For the 30th edition of the Salon du Chocolat and Patisserie in Paris, Ralph Leroy will present an original creation, born from his imagination and heritage: “Choucoune”, a sweet delicacy combining cocoa and breadfruit, symbolizing the richness and vitality of Haiti. Naturally gluten-free, rich in omega 3 and 6, fiber, and minerals, this combination embodies both the memory of the terroir and the modernity of artisanal gastronomy.

FROM THREAD TO COCOA: A CREATOR’S JOURNEY

Initially recognized as a fashion designer in Montreal, Ralph Leroy distinguished himself with his attention to detail and avant-garde vision. His love for beauty and authenticity led him back to Haitian cocoa, giving rise to Makaya Chocolat, an artisanal brand founded in 2016. Trained in Italy, the United States, Trinidad, and Canada, he became a master chocolatier, combining creativity, technique, and commitment to Haitian cocoa producers.

Today, he pursues a dream: to restore Haitian cocoa to the ranks of the world’s finest while promoting the work and know-how of small farmers.
