Happy International Slow Loris Day! 💚🦥
Did you know the slow loris is the world's only venomous primate? Despite their adorable appearance, these remarkable animals face threats from habitat loss and the illegal wildlife trade.
We’ve been celebrating these unique creatures today at the Animal Zone, and through our support of Little Fireface Project, are also helping to raise awareness of the importance of protecting them in the wild.
A message from our Director, Professor Anna Nekaris, the world's leading authority on slow lorises, on this International Slow Loris Day. 🦥
For more on everything we've covered this Slow Loris Outreach Week head to the link in our bio. Our website has it all laid out in full, with expanded resources you can download and take with you on your own travels.
Thank you for following along this week. Every person who takes the time to learn this properly makes the forest, and the lorises in it, a little safer.
