Etching

I have learned this beautiful traditional technique 20 years ago in college. But I cant even remember what I have learned last week!!

It has so many layers and technical terms, timimg... it was quite frustrating at first but once the torching starts (to heat the Aquatint)... I knew I got this, I was in my element and it grounded me.

I am using my line drawing from my sketchbook for this learning process with added imterests like the wooden grain. And no I am not a fan of mayonaisse... in fact, it is one thing took me more than ten years to adapt to eat after moving to Ireland from Taiwan.

Asian mayo is light and sweet, almost like salad cream while western version is so much heavier and thicker. My tummy turned at every taste. I can only take small amount still, while my housemates then and my hubby now are all huge fans of it. Though I would share some small fun facts about this beloved staple in your fridge :)
