Sheesh, the end-of-year exhaustion has absolutely set in for pretty much every parent I’ve spoken with this week! Hang in there. We are going to make it to that finish line together. 💪
But we both know end-of-year-itis isn’t the only thing leaving you overwhelmed 😢 - and I have something to help you out.
This podcast episode is your refreshment stand in the marathon of separated parenting—an invitation to pause, catch your breath, and refill your cup.
I recently sat down with James Lumumba on his ‘Don’t be Afraid to Talk’ Podcast to address the questions separated parents are genuinely losing sleep over.
Here are some of the nourishing bites we cover:
✨Your Kids Will Be Fine - so long as you do one critical thing.
✨Courageous Love: Why moving on from an unhealthy relationship is not failure, but instead an act of profound love.
✨Emotional First Aid: The simple self-kindness that helps parents survive those early weeks and months.
✨The Disney Parent: Why they are not a threat to your relationship with your kids—and how you can know this for sure.
✨The Power of Collaborative Practice: A non-adversarial approach with satisfaction outcomes from 75% all the way up to 100%.
Pop your headphones on, have a listen, and let me know what you found most helpful! If you’re just trying to find your balance and reduce your stress so you can be there for your kids - this will help.

Back in 2019, I messaged people and asked them to write a message of support for anyone battling mental health issues or grieving a loss. These are the messages I received — and they’re just as relevant today.
You might recognize some faces 😊 All the young teens who took part back then must be adults now… and yet, we’re still having the same conversation.

🌟 Breaking Free from Toxic Family Dynamics 🌟
Are you feeling trapped in a cycle of guilt and manipulation within your family? It's time to reclaim your power and prioritise your mental health! Here are some key steps to help you break free:
1. Set Healthy Boundaries: Understand that establishing boundaries is essential for your well-being. Remember, it's okay to prioritize yourself, even if it makes others uncomfortable.
2. Recognise Toxic Patterns: Identify behaviors that drain your energy or make you feel guilty. Acknowledge that these patterns are not your fault and that you deserve healthier relationships.
3. Surround Yourself with Support: Build a community of friends who uplift and validate you. Seek out those who understand your experiences and can reflect your worth back to you.
4. Practice Self-Forgiveness: Let go of self-blame. Understand that forgiveness is about freeing yourself from the emotional burden, not condoning the actions of others.
5. Engage in Healing Activities: Whether it's therapy, reading, or joining support groups, find ways to heal and grow. Knowledge is power, and connecting with others who share similar experiences can be transformative.
6. Take Action: Get involved in community activities, classes, or clubs. Building a support system outside of your family can provide the connection and understanding you need.
Remember, breaking free from toxic family dynamics is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. You are not alone, and you have the strength to create a healthier, happier life! 💪❤️
