Expressions of Interest for the Glorney Gilbert International

The last day for an eligible tournament was today (the 1st Monday in May).

Event | Glorney Gilbert International 2026 Expressions are sought for players wishing to represent Ireland in the 2026 Glorney Gilbert International which is being held in the University of Limerick.

1 Week until the 2026 Irish Junior Championships in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.

Play starts at 19:30 on Friday the 10th for U12+ age groups.
U10 stars at 10:00 on Saturday with the U8s Rapid tournament starting at 12:00 on Sunday the 12th.

Age Groups 12+ are FIDE rated.

Cork Chess Club are also hosting a Junior Rapid Tournament on Friday the 10th from 13:00 (Check-in and final Registations from 12:30).

There are FIDE rated and un-rated sections.

Event | The Irish Junior Championships 2026 Players seeking to represent Ireland should note that participation in the Junior/Senior Championships in one of the two years preceding an international competition is required.

Olympiad Team Captains Reminder: Applications due March 31, 2026

The ICU invites applications for the positions of Open and Women's team captains for the forthcoming 2026 Chess Olympiad to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from September 15-28, 2026.

The closing date for expression of interest is Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Candidates are invited to address the selection criteria (items 1.1 to 10) in sufficient detail to help the selection committee to evaluate the application.
