Michael Byrne was a beloved figure in the UCD community for over 30 years. Known affectionately as ‘Old Man Belfield’, he made UCD his home and became a cherished part of daily life on campus, remembered fondly by students, staff, and local residents alike.

Now in its second year, the Michael Byrne Fun Run is a chance for the UCD community to come together in his memory.

🕯️Bereavement Support Group for UCD Students 🕯️

Starting Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, from 4 PM - 5:30 PM, this 4-week support group is here to help UCD students navigate grief in a compassionate space. Together, we’ll explore new ways to reclaim moments of happiness while honouring those we’ve lost. 💙

🏅 Celebrating Excellence On and Off the Field 🏅

On November 19th, 2024, University College Dublin proudly celebrated the induction of the 2024/25 Graduate Sports Scholars! 🌟

This prestigious ceremony honoured exceptional student-athletes who excel in both their academic pursuits and sporting disciplines, competing at the highest levels nationally and internationally.

The Graduate Sports Scholarship (GSS) program provides:

✅ Academic mentoring
✅ Elite performance gym & facilities access
✅ Professional coaching & nutritional guidance

This year’s scholars represent a diverse range of sports, from GAA and Rugby to Rowing and Soccer, reflecting UCD’s commitment to fostering talent both in the classroom and on the field.
