At just three years old, Nakisinde had already begun to lose her place in the world. Bilateral cataracts had left the little girl from Uganda nearly blind — her days filled with shadows, her play hemmed in by what she couldn't see.

She couldn't move around confidently. She couldn't run to her friends. Simple things — fetching something for her mother, finding her footing on familiar ground — were slipping out of reach.

Through surgery at Mengo Eye Department, supported by CBM, Nakisinde's sight was restored. Her mother saw the change almost at once.

"She runs to play with friends now and brings me things without help," her mother shared. "Her eyes can see, and her smile is brighter than ever."

At her follow-up visit, doctors confirmed significant improvement. Glasses may be part of her future, but her vision journey has already begun — and the world she once knew only in shadows is opening up.

Because of CBM supporters, Nakisinde's future is bright once more.

Every child deserves the chance to see the world clearly this Easter.

Mariya and Ikilima didn’t have that chance. Born with cataracts, their world was filled with shadows. They stumbled, struggled to play, and couldn’t safely go to school.

But because of supporters like you, everything changed. Today, they can see their mother’s face for the first time.

This Easter, help bring light to another child’s life: https://ow.ly/Z8Wf50YBFJX
