Some guys spend their whole career chasing the spotlight. Brady Boone spent much of his time elevating others.
Rob Van Dam was working the Florida circuit in 1992 when the two crossed paths. RVD remembered Boone as one of the nicest, most helpful people he had met in wrestling.
Whether he was wrestling as Brady Boone or under masks like Firecat and Battlecat, he was a regular presence on Florida cards.
Boone is also the man who helped get RVD in front of Giant Baba, leading to Van Dam's first tour of Japan. That opportunity helped put RVD on the map, and a young wrestler doesn't get a call like that without someone willing to make it.
The two only wrestled each other once, in Gainesville. RVD later called it an honour.
Brady Boone died in a car accident in December 1998. He was 40 years old.
Years later, RVD still used a few of Boone's moves.
Maybe that's the real legacy of someone like Brady Boone.
These people vote by the way 🤦🤦
