Yoga With Fi
Hi there! Welcome to yoga with Fi. I offer a wide range of yoga classes. Like and follow or reach out if you'd like to find out more!
Happy Wednesday Yogi's and Yogini's! 🥳
Gentle reminder about tonights 8pm Restore & Relax bedtime class.
The class is really gentle and suitable for beginners through to advanced. The focus will be on finding release and activating the parasympathetic nervous system (bringing the body into rest and digest) setting up the mind and body for a restful evening.
Blankets, pillows, cushions, bolsters or blocks are recommended to help you find the most comfortable position in the poses. I personally love doing this class with low lighting and stick on my diffuser with lavendar and ylang ylang oil. After the class I brew my favorite wind down relaxing tea. The beauty of practicing from home is you get to be creative with the space and customise it. Why not create a whole self care evening for yourself?
The class will be held via Zoom for a cost of 5 euro.
Reach out if you have any questions and to book your place!
Please note: This class is not suitable for pregnant ladies or those with acute injuries. Please reach out to your GP if you have any underlying health conditions or physical injuries for clearance and do get in contact so I can make any necessary adjustments.
Have a lovely day and I look forward to seeing you on the mat tonight. ❤️🙏☯️
Hey yoga friends,
In tomorrows 7pm Zoom Hatha class (suitable for beginners) we'll be placing an emphasis on the spine (forward bends, back bends and spinal twists), hips and shoulders: The problem areas for those sitting for prolonged periods of time.
The practice can be considered gentle and suitable for anyone who is new to a movement practice (if you want to build to a Vinyasa practice I recommend starting with Hatha to get an understanding of the poses and the correct alignment in further detail) but is not suitable for pregnant ladies, those with acute injury (if injured or suffering from an underlying health condition please check with your GP for clearance and reach out).
If you are a Vinyasa yogi/yogini, Hatha can offer great balance to the practice. In a Vinyasa flow we move quickly through the poses building heat and fire in the body, stretching the muscles, building flexibility. Holding poses in Hatha allows more time to really feel into the pose, correct any alignment issues which can then be taken back into the Vinyasa practice. Holding poses is great for building strength. Getting in and out of poses with strength rather than relying solely on flexibility is essential in preventing injuries.
The class will be 5 euro. Reach out to book your place or if you've any questions or concerns!
Have a lovely evening 🙏☯️❤️

Hi friends. I know many of you are still working or studying from home. I'm back studying (from the kitchen table) this week myself and feel your pain! I'll share some of my favourite office yoga poses you can do right from your chair as you work to release stressed shoulders and get a delicious stretch in the spine later this week. Did you know I'm also offering online yoga classes? If you're brand new to movement or yoga I recommend trying Hatha (Tues 7pm) or Restore and Relax (Wednes 8pm). We'll work on the spine, shoulders and hips this week to release those stiff and sore areas from prolonged sitting and hunching. Reach out to book your place! #

I had a super interesting conversation last night about emotional growth with a fellow yoga teacher. Something that came up was the ways the mind inhibits our growth. I'll use the example of conflict to illustrate my point. Often when people call us out on our behaviors we step into a defensive mode, tell the person they misunderstood the situation and let the ego step in. Why do we do this? To "save face" (Erving Goffman). It doesn't feel good walking away from a confrontation being told off.
These interactions can offer great insight into what we need to work on to become better version of ourselves. To move beyond this and "lose face" takes strength and stamina because we have to face ourselves and accept the work that has to be done on our end.
The mind plays tricks on the mat too. Have you ever tried to meditate or hold a restorative pose for 5 minutes and your body won't stop fidgeting? Your mind comes up with every excuse to move or release the pose early and is running through literally every conversation you've had that week. This is because we're facing ourselves, we're made sit with the internal dialogue we're carrying around subconsciously throughout the day. The first day you will really struggle but a week later after practicing every day for 10 minutes it will feel a bit better and the week after you might be able to do 15-20 minutes.
