Bridging Generations Virtual Cafe

Eileen is a lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Education and Health Sciences at the University of Limerick. Prior to entering academia, Eileen worked as a Registered Nurse (Intellectual Disability), with people with intellectual disabilities and their families in a variety of contexts and settings. Eileen is a BSc. (Nursing Studies) graduate of the University of Limerick, a PG Dip. (Nurse Education) and MSc. (Advanced Nursing Studies) graduate of the University of Ulster and a Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) graduate of Trinity College, Dublin.
Eileen’s research interests focus on developing quality practices to implement evidence-based approaches and initiatives facilitating health and wellbeing of adults with intellectual disabilities. Specific topic areas have focused on choice and control, autonomy, assisted decision-making, informed consent, person centred planning and inclusive research.
