Phase 1 of our Music Room refurbishment was completed over the Easter holidays - just in time for the Leaving Cert practicals on Monday.
A new tiered, seated choir area was constructed which will accommodate three class groups together. Students from our many curricular choirs, Schola and Tuesday Choir will rehearse and learn their choral parts seated, as is the customary practice, and then stand when performing. This will also allow for more intimate audience experience, which will complement the larger adjoining theatre space.
We're really excited about possibilities for this space, and are looking forward to the next phases of refurbishment over the next couple of months!

We took some blessed chalk back to the school - the tradition of writing 20 + C + M + B + 26 refers to the initials of the three wise men (Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar) as well as being the initials of the Latin phrase Christus Mansionem Benedicat (Christ, bless this house) which was chalked onto the lintel of all the outside doors of the school.
