There is still time to register for the upcoming guide golf session.

Vision Sports Ireland, in collaboration with Golf Ireland, are delighted to announce our upcoming Blind Golf Guide Training Workshop, taking place on Saturday July 11th from 15:00 – 17:00 at The Heath Golf Club - The Heath, Co Laois

The Blind Golf Guide Training Workshop is designed to give sighted participants the skills, knowledge, and confidence to guide and support a golfer who is blind or vision impaired, both on and off the course.

Blind golf is a sport that can be enjoyed recreationally and competitively, with guides playing a vital role in supporting golfers throughout their round. Guides assist with orientation, communication, shot alignment, and providing clear visual information to help create an inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible golfing experience.

For more details or to register, check out the Vision Sports website - https://visionsports.ie/event/blind-golf-guide-training-workshop/

Athletics Ireland is delighted to announce that, from 1 August 2026, the governance and administration of para-athletics will officially transition to Athletics Ireland.

This marks a significant milestone in the continued development of para-athletics across Ireland. By bringing para-athletics into Athletics Ireland, we are creating greater opportunities for athletes through enhanced participation pathways, stronger integration across the sport, and improved support structures at every level - from grassroots to high performance. πŸ’š

A sincere thank you to Paralympics Ireland and Sport Ireland for their guidance, collaboration, and continued support throughout this transition. 🀝

We also extend our appreciation to the athletes, coaches, volunteers, clubs, and stakeholders whose valuable input and commitment have helped ensure that athlete welfare and development remain at the heart of this process. πŸ‘

This exciting development comes as Athletics Ireland looks ahead to a busy and exciting summer of track & field. We look forward to building an even stronger future for athletics together! πŸš€πŸƒ

Vision Sports Ireland, along with Vision Ireland, are supporting research by DCU. The Start Well+ study is a Research Ireland funded project based at DCU investigating physical literacy and sport participation among children with vision impairment in Ireland. The next phase of the research has begun with children who are blind or vision impaired being asked to take part.

Children are invited to complete an anonymous online questionnaire (approx.10 minutes) about their physical activity habits, preferences, enjoyment, and how they like to learn. Participation is entirely voluntary. The study aims to develop programmes and activities to better support children who are blind and vision impaired to be more physically active.

Survey links are available on the Vision Sports Ireland website - https://visionsports.ie/start-well-physical-literacy-for-us/
