The dream of playing cricket is turning into a nightmare, as it's becoming easier for our youth to fall into the trap of drugs than to arrange the ransom required to play the game they love.The basic motto of sports has always been to keep youth away from harmful influences like drugs. However, the current scenario is so bleak that consuming drugs has become a cheaper alternative to participating in a game of cricket. This is a devastating reality that we cannot afford to ignore. The very purpose of sports is being lost, and the consequences are dire for our young generation.What’s even more troubling is the absolute silence from the government and social activists. It's disheartening that no one has given serious thought to this issue because it doesn’t bring the fame or recognition that other causes do. This apathy is allowing a noble endeavor like sports to be twisted into a commercialized burden, driving our youth further away from its intended benefits.It's time we speak up and demand a change. Our youth deserve better—affordable, accessible cricket that stays true to its roots of camaraderie and healthy competition, not a money-making scheme that drives them away from the sport and toward dangerous alternatives.
