A panel discussion was conducted on 20th October with various esteemed speakers. The panelists of the session were Dr. Preeti Singh; who is a Founder of Seamless Minds Clinic, Gurgaon and is the Chief Medical Officer with Lissun, a leading mental health startup, Dr. Krishna Sankar Kusuma; who teaches South Indian Cinema, Communication Research, Critical Media Theory , Script writing, Video production at the AJK MCRC and Professor Danish Iqbal, who is an academician and playwright, and the coordinator of Development Communication at AJK MCRC Jamia Millia Islamia

Video glimpse of cleaning march "Don't be bitter, clean the litter." By mobilizing people we tried to spread awareness regarding masculinity.
On 13th October 2022, We carried on a cleanliness drive in order to raise awareness regarding our campaign 'Un-mascing'. Through this march, we generated a discussion on toxic masculinity within the campus and also made the statement that both garbage and toxic gender roles set by the society belong in trash.

On 13th October 2022, We carried on a cleanliness drive in order to raise awareness regarding our campaign 'Un-mascing'. Through this march, we generated a discussion on toxic masculinity within the campus and also made the statement that both garbage and toxic gender roles set by the society belong in trash.
What are gender roles?
Gender roles refer to the set-societal standards that come with one’s gender. Like gender, such roles are also a construct and bears no sound argument.
Effect of Gender Roles on Men:
In a recent study in the American Journal of Men’s Health, four researchers examined the relationship between rigid adherence to the norms of masculinity (which broadly include “dominance, violence, anti-femininity, emotional control, and self reliance”) and undesirable outcomes like “negative emotionality, including depression, aggression and hostility, and poorer overall psychological well-being.” The study reports that men are more likely to burn, self-hit, bang one’s head against objects, punch walls or other objects, and engage in generally risky behaviors (e.g., driving dangerously).”
