One of the most important component of designing interiors is curating and procuring quality products from different places and blending them together. Be it tiles, the countertop, or laminates for the kitchen cabinet.. it was indeed an experience to look for products for your own kitchen. The space where, one day, you would cook yourself.

Kitchen redesign and renovation 2021
When we planned to finally have the long due renovation (because of covid), just like a kid with a blank canvas in hand, I felt nervous. Usually, it's easy when it's for your clients but when you and your own family is the client, it becomes a bit difficult to put a finger at one thing.
But one thing was there in my and my mom's mind that it has to be colourful, bright and happy. So deciding the colour schemes for all rooms was a task and took the challenge. Will be posting all the palettes in the following posts.

Por-TABLE'
The portable drafting table, a concept developed long back (previous posts), have been reiterated many times during years. Another step, probably the most important, in the process of design is to get 'back to the drawing board'. That was the core thought behind designing a board that's portable, so that one could draw, one could get back to the drawing board whenever an idea strikes. Sticking to the roots and the old-school manners, keeping aside the laptops, apps and softwares. The board converts into a vintage-look suitcase and can hold important drawing tools and a few sheets. A statement and reminder to stay in touch with the 'basics'.

'Por-TABLE'
Brainstorming and concept design idea for a Portable Drafting Table. Was heavily obsessed by the idea of creating various types of drafting table during my college days. Im 2013, a long dry phase of 7 months just after graduating provided with the adequate time and space to experiment. The situation was quite similar to what we are facing these days, had locked myself up in home and to distract myself from the initial career rejections, I started focussing on designing stuff that could be used and moved easily around home - idea of WFH during that time. An idea which was not that important back then.
The prototype had all detachable elements and could be packed like a suitcase to carry around anywhere. Check out this space for more details.

What Color You Want?
Remember the fun origami-based game from the childhood - Tippy Tippy Tap! The very simple DIY paper-fold game was intriguing and fun. How fun it could be if we could choose from the colorful options always. Marked with red, blue, green and blue, every section had something hidden inside. I took that and blended it with the typical foldable sweet box we have around.
The result, a small SNACK BOX made of wood and top covered with colorful glass. Different sections to chose your sweets/snacks from. To make the choice fun, one can rotate it as the main box is wrapped around a spine. Again, finished with pinch of brass inlays. So, Tippy Tippy Tap, What color you want?

DESIGN NOTES
The sheets which rarely get to see the light of day in any project - the details. Basic minute details and concepts for the other important elements of any residence. The entrance, boundary walls, duct covers and staircase facade. Some conceptual sketches and joinery details for the same. Again playing with MS pipes and wooden planks as a combination. The Jali pattern with punctured metal sheets - to give an illusion of stars in night sky when lot from inside. Some planter details for the boundary wall where the name plate was supposed to be placed.
