Desai Textiles
Driven by innovation & quality, Desai Tex has grown from a small unit to a global name. Our portfolio spans from cottons, linens to stretch fabrics.
📈 Sustainability isn't a trend for us. It's a responsibility we carry with every meter we weave.
As a Better Cotton member, we are committed to responsible sourcing that supports farmers, soil, and water.
The fabric you choose shapes the world it comes from. Choose fabrics that choose the planet.

2️⃣ Numbers decide how a fabric feels before you ever touch it: yarn count and GSM.
Count tells you how fine the thread is. GSM tells you how heavy the cloth is. Get both right and the fabric behaves exactly as your garment needs.

Innovating India's weaving legacy, one blend at a time. From Tencel and linen blends to intricate dobbies, Desai Textiles brings craft and innovation to every metre.
Your favourite shirt began as a single thread. Before it ever reached a wardrobe, it travelled through warping, sizing, weaving, inspection and finishing, and every metre was checked before it left Ichalkaranji.
Most people never see this journey. Save this to remember how real fabric is made, and share it with someone who would appreciate the craft.

New on the blog.
In the last 12 months, Indian fabric has done what two decades of trade-show pitches could not. Indian weaves and motifs are now opening Paris couture shows, shaping Louis Vuitton collections, and walking every major global red carpet from Cannes to the Met Gala.
But here is the part that matters for fabric buyers and designers. Indian textile and apparel exports hit US$ 36.61 billion in FY 2024-25, with apparel growing over 10%. Bharat Tex 2025 pulled in 6,000 international buyers. The UK-India trade agreement opened zero-duty access on 99% of textile tariff lines. The EU and US deals followed.
For a working mill like ours in Ichalkaranji, this changes everything. What we make, who we make it for, and how fast we move.

Some fabrics whisper. Dobby speaks.
Tiny geometric motifs lifted right into the weave, not printed on top, give dobby its quiet dimensionality, the kind of texture you feel before you see. Equally at home in a crisp formal shirt or a relaxed weekend kurta, it is one of the most underused weaves in Indian sourcing.
Which dobby motif do you reach for most, diamond, dot, or dobby check?
Some women stitch your childhood. Some weave your dreams. And some hold the thread of your becoming, long after their hands have stopped moving.
This Mother's Day, we remember every mother who folded love into fabric. From our threads to your moments. Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Desai Textiles.

Did you know India is the world's second largest textile exporter, with shipments crossing thirty-six billion dollars.
Behind that number sit clusters like Ichalkaranji, weaving over eighty-five million meters of fabric every single day. We have been part of this story since 1979, and the growth chapter is only just beginning.
Where in India do you source your fabric from?

India just signed a Free Trade Agreement with
New Zealand. For Indian textiles, the wins are
unusually clear.
Here is what changed on 27 April:
→ 100% duty-free access on every Indian export
→ Peak tariffs of up to 10% on apparel, gone
→ Textiles named a cornerstone sector by the GOI
→ Built for MSMEs and smaller mills
→ 48-hour customs clearance, 24 hours for express
→ Bilateral trade already grew 49% last year
For Ichalkaranji, India's quiet textile powerhouse,
this is a clear lane to a developed market.
For brands sourcing from India, the question is
no longer whether. It is which cluster, which
mill, and how soon.
