Thoubal, November 9— A wave of grief has swept through Thoubal town after a tragic road accident claimed the life of a young boy, turning a quiet Sunday morning into one of heartbreak and disbelief.
Around 11 a.m., along the Thoubal–Yairipok road near Thoubal Kshetri Leikai Chanam Golai, a DI Tata vehicle (MN03D 3332) fatally struck 10-year-old Waikhom Pibarel Angamba Meitei, son of Rasinanda of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai (Makha Leikai). Eyewitnesses describe a harrowing scene — the boy, full of life just moments before, became another innocent victim of Manipur’s growing road safety crisis. Locals rushed to the spot, their cries echoing through the air as they tried to come to terms with what had just happened.
Police from Thoubal Police Station swiftly arrived, sealing off the area and beginning preliminary investigations. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized, and the driver taken into custody for questioning.
