Indian Rally Co-Driver Musa Sherif Set for Historic 350th Rally at 49th South India Rally in Chennai

CHENNAI, April 2026 – India’s most accomplished rally co-driver, Musa Sherif, will achieve an unprecedented milestone at the 49th South India Rally in Chennai from April 17–19, 2026. The event, which also serves as the second round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) , will mark Sherif’s 350th career rally – a feat unmatched in Indian motorsport history.

Hailing from Kasaragod, Kerala, Sherif made his rally debut in the 1993 season and has since competed in 34 consecutive seasons alongside 57 different drivers. His 350-rally tally includes 104 international rallies across 17 different countries, making him the most traveled and experienced Indian co-driver ever.

A Career Defined by Records

Sherif holds numerous exclusive record milestones that no other Indian has achieved:

National Achievements:

· 10-time overall Indian National Rally Champion (8 x INRC, 1 x INSUVRC, 1 x IRC)
· 39 overall wins in INRC rounds
· 23 championship titles
· 7 INRC titles with Gaurav Gill and 1 with Karna Kadur

International Achievements: Multiple Overall Wins in Malaysian Rally Championship with Karamjit Singh of Malaysia
· First all-Indian team to participate and win a WRC3 podium (with Naveen Puligilla)
· APRC2 Asia Cup winner with Abhilash PG
· Malaysian 4x4 Championship winner (with Lohitt V Urs)
