You should invest in direct equity only if you have the inclination to do it the right way. You need to invest more than just your money to get it right. If not, it is better to leave the job to professionals rather than losing money trying to learn lessons the hard way. This would be a better option for a majority of the population who decide to invest in equity. On a lighter note, there is one other reason to invest through mutual funds rather than on your own- it gives you someone to blame if things don’t work as expected!!
