It’s been about 11 years since I shot these images some where outside of Tirupati, around a brick-making area. I still remember every single moment of that evening and how happy the kids were seeing me with my DSLR.
They saw some of these images and couldn’t believe what I was shooting.
(For me) Photography is not about stealing cinematic images. It’s these stories that make it a true art form of human connection and interaction.

It was one of those moments you don’t really plan.
With Avantika Rikhye, it stopped feeling like filming pretty quickly. We just fell into it with no expectations, no performance, just being there.
Somewhere between the wind, the sea, and her movement, it turned quiet. The camera didn’t matter. Intention didn’t matter. For a while, it felt like we were moving through the same breath just observing, feeling and letting go.
