Last message of Steve Jobs
“I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success. However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to. At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth. Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days.
God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth. The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me. What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love. Those are the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on. Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.”
These were the words of Steve Jobs who is widely recognized as a pioneer of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s. He died at the age of 56 from pancreatic cancer. Well, the whole idea that he wanted to convey with these words lies in treasuring life, the people we meet in this life and our own self.
Being humans, we have been taught to practice humanity in various different ways. The essence of humanity lies even in the smallest of efforts that one human puts in other’s wellbeing. Well, it’s the same thing that needs to be considered when it comes to health care sector too. It goes without saying that the contribution of technology to health care sector is unmatchable. But with the advances in technology in the services of health sector, we spend far less time in listening to people’s stories. Keeping it short, we’re slowly failing at building one-to-one human connections. We need to build a more humane approach while prioritizing other works.
We at Chikitsak aim at providing you with the services where we keep the essence of humanity intact along with organizational services.
Cheers to humanity! Cheers to good health!

about stories...UNLIMITED!
मैं... बचपन और आप!
*Making a living , giving a life*
All of us do something or the other to make a living. This statement intrigues you because you consider, “making a living”, relates to making money for a livelihood. You live as long as you live. It is until that point in time, when you breathe your last breath. You are living because you are breathing. You are making the muscles of your heart work enough to pump blood into your veins. You make your lungs pump in oxygen and blow out carbon dioxide. You make your pupils move towards the faces of your dear ones who are around you. You make your brain think and believe that you are alive. Until all of these activities and millions more does not stop, you are living. You are the one who is making this happen inside you. You are making a living.
Let us have a look at another statement. “All of us make a living by what we get”. Again you are intrigued by this version. But this time, you are little cautious. You are considering the immaterial things, all because of the impact of the first stanza that was elaborated upon “making a living”. This time you are more philosophical. This is natural.
The process of being conscious and reacting to our conscience happens in all of us. Consciously or sub consciously, we make a living by what we get. Yes we get it as air, water and food. If you think minutely, you are bound to realise, you have consumed only these three things to make a living. The fact is, there is no such fourth thing that keeps you alive, or rather keeping you alive. Everything else is just an annexure. They just support your act of living but they never become a constituent element. Let us take an example beyond air, water and food. You may challenge this notion. Take an example. What is the next most important thing that you need? Clothes! It protects you and adorns you. It is materialistic.
You would say, we have thoughts, opinions, beliefs, emotions, assumptions, options, premonitions, perceptions, affections, aspirations, inspirations and many more things that keep us alive. That’s true, they keep you alive! That is your life. All of these make your life and reflects through your deeds on either side of your life. By this, I am indicating at your life that you cherish, while in action and the Life of yours that’s cherished by others when you are physically absent but retained in memories. I would set aside another debate for the time being, while subtly asking a question, whether those memories are good or bad. Whether they extend happiness or bring in pain. But why should you bother? You are not there anymore to consume that reflection. You have become a memory!
You have stopped making a living. However, you have left behind a “life” which you had nurtured, watered, crafted, decorated and presented it, again and again with improvements always, while you were making a living. The moment your living concludes, what remains behind your body and soul, is nothing but your “Life”. Nobody can change or edit that anymore. It is the final version, complete in itself. You have given it. So we say, we make a “life” by what we give.
