Recently we had a session with Shri C. S. Satish Chandra ji at the Agri Food Business Incubation Centre (AFBIC), IIT Kharagpur reminded us that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication in business.
His thoughts were clear, grounded, and deeply impactful — no jargon, just timeless truths about what truly builds a sustainable enterprise.
💡 Key takeaways from his talk on “Basic Financial Model for Startups”:
1️⃣ Create a system that enables continuous growth and profitability.
2️⃣ A business must deliver more value to the enterprise, touch a larger part of the community, and bring a permanent change in habits.
3️⃣ Every startup — especially in agri and food sectors — must first survive, then sustain, and finally progress.
His clarity on numbers, understanding of business fundamentals, and humble way of connecting them to real-life examples made the entire discussion relatable and inspiring.
As part of Cohort II, this session strengthened our belief that growth doesn’t come from complexity — it comes from clarity, consistency, and culture.
Grateful to AFBIC – IIT Kharagpur for curating such insightful sessions that help founders like us learn directly from leaders who’ve built with wisdom and purpose.
